Supporting YMCA Plymouth

We’re delighted to step in this week to help one of the oldest charities in Plymouth, YMCA Plymouth, who have been supporting local families with health and wellbeing, cardiac rehabilitation, education, disability sports and crisis help since 1884. Over 30,000 people visit the centre each year.

In October 2021, the charity reached out to local businesses requesting help with the ongoing renovations needed, including painting some of the many areas of the centre in need of a face-lift. We were quick to respond to their Pledge to Paint campaign by initially offering to redecorate the changing room areas used by gym members for health and wellbeing. But we wanted to do more!

So today we started painting the charity’s sports hall too which is used for local dance and theatre, as well as for local sports’ clubs. As our teams consisting of both professional painters and volunteer office-based staff donate time and skills, it’s a team effort, so we’d like to thank LTC Scaffolding for their donation of mechanical equipment, and Dulux for their donation of 70 gallons of paint.
