Exercise on Referral

YMCA Plymouth’s Exercise on Referral (EOR) Scheme provides exercise classes in a supervised environment for those patients affected by clinical conditions. Members of the EOR Scheme range in age, ability and fitness levels. People referred to us by their Medical Professional include those experiencing anxiety, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, back pain, angina, depression, osteoporosis, cancer, arthritis or other conditions.

EOR classes are conducted in a friendly, client-centred fitness suite. Our aim is to provide advice and instruction on functional exercises and activities that will help you improve your health & fitness and make everyday tasks easier to perform.

“If exercise were a pill, it would be one of the most cost-effective drugs ever invented,” says Dr Nick Cavill, a Health Promotion Consultant.

Our team of instructors holds nationally recognised qualifications in; Exercise on Referral, Personal Training, Fitness Assessment, Healthy Eating and Circuit Training
